Brief about the Team
Tata 1mg partners with various hospitals and healthcare providers to provide medication and healthcare services to patients which may include pharmacy services such as medication on dispensing, compounding, and counseling. This team manages to provide medications directly to patients at the hospital (bedside) or deliver medications to patients' homes after they are discharged from the hospital.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and process-driven Deputy Manager - Operations Management to lead on-ground hospital operations for Tata 1mg in Jamshedpur. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in hospital pharmacy operations and healthcare supply chains, along with the ability to manage people, processes, and cross-functional coordination. This role requires a strong focus on execution, stakeholder management, and operational compliance in line with healthcare standards and hospital policies.
Oversee day-to-day operations of pharmacy units across the hospital, including IPD/OPD supplies, procurement, inventory, logistics, and central store.
Ensure continuous drug availability and accurate unit-dose preparations.
Monitor operational KPIs and implement strategies for efficiency improvement.
Lead SOP adherence and compliance with hospital, NABH, and JCI standards.
2. Team Management
Build and lead a high-performing pharmacy team with strong work ethics and process orientation.
Engage with HR for recruitment, training, and workforce planning.
Establish staff work schedules and performance metrics aligned with hospital needs.
3. Stakeholder Coordination
Serve as POC for Tata 1mg operations within the hospital.
Liaise with hospital administrators, clinical staff, and participate in internal committees (e.g., Pharmacy, Therapeutics, NABH, Infection Control).
Understand requirements from various hospital teams and coordinate with internal Tata 1mg teams to ensure timely delivery.
4. Technology & Systems Integration
Act as the lead facilitator between Tata 1mg's tech team, hospital stakeholders, and HMIS providers for system implementation or upgrades.
Ensure smooth integration of technology-enabled processes and services on-site.
5. Finance & Reporting
Manage invoicing, payment follow-ups, financial tracking, quarterly/annual budgeting and P&L ownership in coordination with the finance team.
6. Risk, Compliance & Service Excellence
Investigate and resolve pharmacy-related complaints, service disruptions, or regulatory concerns.
Implement corrective actions where needed and escalate critical issues to leadership.
Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and hospital-specific protocols.
7. Communication & Presentations
Prepare and deliver professional decks and presentations for both internal teams and external hospital stakeholders.
Summarize performance, identify issues/opportunities, and align teams toward common goals using clear and concise documentation.
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Healthcare Management, or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in hospital pharmacy operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a team/operations lead role.
Experience in managing large-scale healthcare or pharmacy operations in a hospital setup.
Technical & Domain Knowledge:
Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, and PowerPoint/Google Slides.
Deep understanding of hospital workflows, pharmacy standards, and healthcare regulations.
Familiarity with HMIS platforms and process automation in a healthcare setting.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Effective communication with both internal stakeholders and hospital leadership.
Analytical thinking and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
